My Friend: Thalbeh

I swore an oath that I would not write anything on my page...for months now...but the event...overturned the balance of my silence...so fasting became necessary..!

My old, elderly friend "Thalbeh", who returned and visited me virtually yesterday, Thursday...was horrified by what happened between us...in Palestine. In these days...he advised me to listen to some of these words and phrases...after we recited al-Fatiha for the soul of the deceased martyr "Nizar Banat", including:

The lash does not reform people....!, and "the bullet does not establish a ruling.....nor does it confer legitimacy"...!

Do not plunge into oppressing people....and do not destroy the tranquility of the relationship and the social fabric in Palestine..!!

Do not let the compass of Palestine.....be forced to move in a direction other than its own....!

Do not let the stone-throwing resistors...! and the torch-bearers burning across the hills of Palestine.!...fall...out of motives of personal and familial revenge....on anyone other than the heads of the occupiers..... !

What happened was terrifying..and we are shocked...by this killing and thuggery...by a small misguided group..which is certainly not classified as "Palestinian"...And to those who dabb on his chest, who ordered the raid and the torture and the mutilation and the killing, I say to them: you assign no weight .....neither to the wise rulers of affairs..many of whom still remain......nor to all the masses of the Palestinian people......nor to the justice of the law..It is time that you receive retribution....according to the Palestinian law..!

This situation brings to mind the saying of the just caliph: Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz to one of his governors...."There are many who doubt you and few who thank you: either you reform yourself...or you withdraw..."

O God, protect Palestine and its people...for Palestine deserves reflection...and the correction of the fracture...with the wisdom of a people of the mighty....!
