Privacy and statistics
This site uses no cookies to track readers and never identifies any visitor.
What we measure
- Views: the number of times an article was actually open for at least two seconds. Not a number of people.
- Approximate visitors: a daily estimate based on a temporary encrypted fingerprint that changes every day, is deleted within two days, and cannot be linked to a person.
- Engaged reads: the page stayed active for at least 30 seconds and half of the article was scrolled.
- Source of the visit: a broad category only (Facebook, search engines, direct…). Some visits have no known source.
Figures are stored only as daily totals, and we do not store IP addresses. Visits by known crawlers are not counted.
The view counts shown on articles start from the launch of the new site; the old blog’s statistics were not carried over.
