In an interview with the famous American journalist Thomas Friedman with the C.N.N. network....yesterday, the American broadcaster Christiane Amanpour asked Friedman for his opinion on what the Saudi newspaper Okaz and Al Arabiya channel wrote..about a Qatari role in the disappearance of the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi...in his country's consulate in Istanbul...and that the Qataris are behind reports of Khashoggi's disappearance and that the Qataris own about 50%..of the American newspaper The Washington Post...!!! and have influence over its editorial policy, (it is known that the American newspaper The Washington Post was one in which the late Jamal Khashoggi regularly wrote a column), so what the journalist Friedman did was place his hands on his face – suddenly – as a sign of shock and annoyance at this talk, and rejection of this incorrect and inaccurate analysis, then the famous American journalist commented where Friedman was upset by what the American broadcaster on CNN had told him in the interview that took place with CNN....regarding Okaz newspaper and Al Arabiya channel promoting incorrect information about a Qatari role in the disappearance of Khashoggi.....where he removed his hands from his face and looked back in memory where he referred – Friedman – to a report presented by a number of Arab sociologists in 2002 to the United Nations about Arab human development. The report, which is considered one of the most important reports relied upon by the United Nations in Arab human development..where the Arab sociologists said that the Arabs suffer from a deficiency in knowledge, a deficiency in freedom and a deficiency in the empowerment of women.. The report summarizes them as three deficits relating to freedom, empowerment of women, and knowledge.
Friedman told the CNN presenter..that what you reported...confirms that the Arab world still suffers from the same problems explained by the United Nations report in 2002 as mentioned...that it still lacks freedom of expression, freedom of knowledge and women's freedom and empowerment...and this is evidence of the suppression of freedom of opinion and expression..and a lack of knowledge in addition to the lack of women's freedom..he expressed astonishment and shock at the process of erasing facts...!!!
- The famous journalist Thomas Friedman, an American Jew, is one of the greatest defenders of the Saudi Crown Prince Prince Mohammed bin Salman,, and praised his ambitions and achievements and the reformist thinking he carries..Friedman is also considered – as published in this regard – the originator of the idea of the initiative of Crown Prince Saudi Prince Abdullah – before he became king – the "Prince Abdullah Initiative for Peace in the Middle East" – where Friedman wrote an article before the initiative was announced at the Arab summit in Beirut. Weeks earlier. Friedman regularly writes an "Opinion" column in The New York Times in which he outlines broad lines and steps to solve the Middle East problem...where the text of the initiative was similar to the texts of the broad lines and steps that Friedman wrote...in his "Opinion" article...
- It is worth noting that The Washington Post, in which the late Jamal Khashoggi worked and wrote...published last week the late Khashoggi's last article before he was killed in his country's consulate in Istanbul..where the newspaper published the late Khashoggi's article after the American paper translated it into Arabic. entitling it..."What the Arab world needs today is freedom of expression"..where he said that he – i.e., Khashoggi – reviewed the Press Freedom Index report for 2018 published by the "Freedom House" foundation and reached the alarming realization that there is one Arab country classified as "free" which is Tunisia..followed by Jordan, Morocco and Kuwait in second place with the classification "partly free"..and the rest of the Arab countries classified as "not free"..and therefore the Arabs living inside these countries are either uninformed or misled and they cannot adequately address the issues that affect the region and their daily lives..let alone discuss them publicly...
- We say...we are not with this Arab side against another Arab side..we are all Arabs...what we aspire to...is to declare the truth so that we change the coordinates of our Arab likeness....."Lying is the salt of men"....and salt in our customs is necessary for the food we eat to sate our hunger.....!!

Our friend, the creative Arab novelist Qasim Tawfiq...said in one of his creative novels
"Mira"....."But the truth is in what we do not dare to write."!!
