Between Cuba 1961 and Ukraine 2022: Clashing Wills on the Front Lines

●      In 1962.... a hot crisis erupted that nearly then warned of a nuclear war between the Soviet Union     and the United States of America...because of the emplacement of Soviet missile bases in Cuba, close to the shores of the United States of America, since the island (Cuba)..is only 145 km from the state of Florida, and is minutes away from other American cities..... where the island of Cuba witnessed a new reality after the Cuban communist revolutionaries led by Fidel Castro succeeded in seizing power in the country in early 1959.

●      That aroused the concern of the United States of America... under the presidency of Dwight Eisenhower at the time, where Washington planned, in the days of President Dwight Eisenhower, to topple Fidel Castro,

When the American President John Kennedy assumed the reins of government in the country in January 1961 succeeding Eisenhower, he gave in February of the same year his orders to carry out the "BayofPigs" invasion on the ground, but this military operation failed to overthrow the regime of Cuba led by Fidel Castro, using Cuban mercenaries, and it developed into an international crisis between America and the Soviet Union at the time, which lasted only two weeks, then was resolved peacefully after it placed the world on the brinkofacatastrophicnuclearwar!

●      The failed invasion operation strengthened Castro's political position and he appeared "a global hero against imperialism" in the eyes of the communist camp led by Moscow, which increased cooperation with Havana, so his brother Raúl Castro visited the Kremlin... From here the Soviet president at the time, Nikita Khrushchev, decided to install those missiles in Cuba, off the American coasts, to deter Washington from thinking of any other attempt to invade the island and overthrow the communist regime there..!

●      In October 1962 American U2 spy planes discovered Soviet missile sites installed on Cuban territory, which alarmed the American administration, becauseitbegantofeeladirectthreatonitsbordersforthefirsttime.

●      Washington responded to the Soviet move by imposing a naval blockade on Cuba to prevent Soviet cargo ships from transporting weapons to it, conducting aerial reconnaissance sorties by American fighters over the missile platform sites.

●      The crisis ended within two weeks with a peaceful solution when Moscow ordered the withdrawal of its offensive nuclear-capable missiles from Cuba, following Washington's display of force and its actual threat to "preemptively" target them if necessary.

●      In the wake of the invasion and the missile crisis; Washington imposed harsh political and economic sanctions on Cuba in 1962, and a blockade that lasted more than fifty years...afterwards ..

●      Thus the American position was firm, whentheSovietsapproachedtheshoresoftheUnitedStatesofAmerica....but the Soviets were then more shrewd..where they withdrew the missiles...from Cuba...but they were able in return to pressure Washington at the time to withdraw missiles that had been installed in Turkey, toward the Soviet Union..and they were withdrawn..by the Americans..in the same incident..in order to save the Soviets' face..before the world, ...!

●      Elsewhere, Afghanistan...theUnitedStatesofAmericaapproachedthebordersoftheSovietUnionintheearlyeightiesbywayofproxywars (the Soviet Union's border with Afghanistan consisted of 3 republics of the Union which were Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan..which became independent from the Soviet Union after its breakup in the early 1990s..of the last century).,

●      The Soviet Union occupied Afghanistan in 1979....the United States of America supported the Afghan rebels including the Mujahideen to fight the Soviet occupation, and the American president at the time, on 8-3-1982, Ronald Reagan, declared that day Afghanistan Day..and Reagan then said that the tragedy of Afghanistan continues, while the brave Afghan fighters for freedom continue their steadfastness in the face of the brutal invasion of the Soviet forces and their occupation of their country...!!

●      Among those fighters for freedom, (according to the newspaper quoting former U.S. President Reagan) was Abdullah Azzam who participated in founding the Services Office for the Mujahideen, which was a framework that recruited, trained, and funded the Afghan jihad against the Soviets in 1984..! ...Azzam was also the founder of the hardline organization Al-Qaeda, the private teacher of Osama bin Laden..!

●      The United States provided money and weapons to the mujahideen, the name that was given to the Islamist fighters, via Pakistan's secret intelligence service, and these mujahideen formed effective instruments in expelling the Soviet Union when it announced its withdrawal from Afghanistan in 1988-1989, having invaded the country in 1979 (as shown by Mahmoud Hamdani 2004),

●      It has been said that contemporary terrorism in general is in reality,the result of political decisions made by the United States in addition to other countries...in supporting what is called "proxy wars", wars in which groups outside the state were supplied with equipment and intelligence support in order to undermine the authority of states considered hostile to Western interests..!

●      The United States also created, as Hamdani says, special resistance forces that did not belong to a state and were composed of uprooted individuals barely tied to their families and countries...such as extreme Islamist organizations....And perhaps the fact of these groups and these individuals who were laterstigmatizedasterrorists were effective in the destruction that occurred on 11-9-2001 (the September 2001 events the destruction of the World Trade Center), they were receiving support and reinforcement from the United States ..and still are..in other parts of the world (according to press sources)..

●      The United StatesofAmericaoccupied ...Afghanistan after the Soviets were expelled, supported by the Americans for the movements of Islamist fundamentalists (the mujahideen) – but these mujahideen...were accused by the United States of being behind the terrorist bombings in 2001....which was used as a pretext for occupying Afghanistan .....and America did not leave Afghanistan...until 2022, where Afghanistan appeared... a lost, poor, weak state...and its social fabric fragmented..!

●      Ukrainetoday ..onthefrontlineswiththeRussianFederation......which expressed concern about Western activities and especially those of the United States of America in Ukraine against Russian interests..and Russia carried out its military operation in February 2022.. after it failed to persuade the West to provide it with security guarantees regarding Ukraine...(according to Moscow's statements)

●      This time the United States of America..after 61 years....comes with more than 40 countries, including NATO countries and European Union countries........to Ukraine bordering Russia, so instead of trying to calm the situation between Russia and Ukraine...to avoid the outbreak of a potential global nuclear war, the West insists on stoking the fires of war...between the two countries Russia and Ukraine...where the West has mobilized many other countries,,, to supply Ukraine with all kinds of Western and Eastern weapons openly ...(as on display), in addition to intelligence and technological information– according to the press – and this Western mobilization...incited the Ukrainians to continue fighting the Russians, and most Western politicians visited Ukraine..pledging to continue to provide it with tens of billions of dollars, the value of arms deals..that were delivered to the Ukrainians...aside from Western experts and covert units...which before the Russian military operation were roaming all areas of Ukraine..preparing plans..and conducting experiments in laboratories in some places on Ukrainian territory...and they tightened the noose around Russia where they imposed enormous economic and financial and other sanctions on it..in order to break Russia's backbone..and to keep the dominance for the United States as the sole unchallenged pole..this

If Russia and China do not succeed in building a new multipolar world...!

●      The United Nations is silent.. subservient... does nothing ... except attend the signing of the grain export agreement between Ukraine and Russia under Turkish auspices.. to the countries of the world ..and extend it every 4 months — that is if the agreement remains.. alive... !
