Events Related to Democracy and Responsibility in Governance

· (From readable writings)...Supporters of President Trump, incited by him, stormed the Capitol building two days ago, which led to the failure to complete the voting sessions and to certify the election results for the states and thereby to certify the victory of the president-elect Biden.... And despite the occurrence of casualties... the military refused to intervene.. and the responsibility for protection remained mainly on the shoulders of the police forces and the Capitol Police.. The situation was dealt with appropriately, and without any escalation....., and, for example, the building was not shelled by artillery, as happened to the Soviet parliament building in 1993, which contained the People's Deputies and the Supreme Soviet, when the conflict between President Boris Yeltsin and the legislative authority regarding his reform program... where the Soviet army stormed the parliament, deputies were arrested, and there were casualties in the building and in the surrounding streets estimated at more than 1,500 people between dead and wounded.....!

· It is clear from the words of most Republican and Democratic members in the session they held after the protesters stormed the building to resume certifying the states' results, and thus to certify the victory of the candidate Biden... that the two parties together are serious about the process of punishing President Trump because of his inciting role toward the crowds that stormed the Capitol... whether by activating Article 25 of the Constitution to remove the president or by impeaching him in Congress.... Knowing that the Republican Party needs that, to protect the party's reputation in future periods...!

· Perhaps the dialogue that appears in the book "جيوش الليل" by the famous novelist Norman Miller is the best description to show public opinion's ability to support and even impose its view, as public opinion — as the events of the film revolve — came out to oppose the (opposition to) the war in Vietnam...!

· Previously, and not long ago, during the presidency of Bill Clinton (1993-2001), the draft resolution referred by the House Judiciary Committee, in the House of Representatives in its entirety, was essentially for Congress's decision to impeach the president (Clinton) in the Monica Lewinsky scandal.... And it was noticeable that the motion to impeach the president was not a decision made by the "Republican Party" alone, but thirty representatives from the "Democratic Party" (the president's party) joined it...!

· And in related events with similar stances of a president's conflict with the legislative authority, the dialogue that took place in the film "Wag the Dog", produced in 1997 by director Barry Levinson, presented hypothetical events, which were aimed at President George H. W. Bush in its dialogue, and the war it meant was "Desert Storm" against Iraq at that time in 1990; the film's events are about a hypothetical war..... to cover up an ethical scandal triggered by the media for an American president — supposed — fourteen days before election day... where the American president in the film decided, in order to divert attention from the issue, to announce a war on the country "Albania" on the pretext that it threatens national security..!

· This film was shown in the screening hall on the American aircraft carrier (Enterprise) in the Gulf, which participated in the last strike on Iraq (during Clinton's days), and this film was shown in the entertainment programs for the carrier's sailors....! And the dialogue of this film is the same as what happened to President Clinton when he struck Iraq.......... at a time when his political life was in danger, and he was besieged by accusations regarding his lying to jurors in the investigations by Judge "Kenneth Starr" concerning his sexual relations with the White House intern "Monica Lewinsky...!,

· And regarding President Trump, who is beset by the results of his actions and conduct... he was thinking... of launching a war on Iran... to confuse the cards.. on the domestic arena in his country, and to obstruct the Democrats from taking power.. And although there are still several days until the inauguration of the president-elect Biden (20-1-2021), during which President Trump could turn the tables....., what recently happened—the storming of the Capitol building by an American crowd loyal to President Trump—weakened his ability to continue his plans, especially since the Republican Party was the biggest loser as a result of this storming...!
