The 'Deal of the Century' Began Long Ago — 1944

-        From the White House and U.S. Department of State documents of 1944, document number 2373-1 AN 876
Dated 28-1-1944, a memorandum from Adolf Berle — Assistant Secretary of State — to the U.S. Secretary of State, attached to this memorandum is the text of draft resolutions Nos. 418 and 419 submitted to the Senate and the House of Representatives, and they are in identical wording::::

·       Year 1944

-        "Congress decided to request that the government of the United States of America make every benevolent effort, and take all escalatory steps, to open the doors of Jewish immigration to Palestine, and that they have the right to colonize that country and establish a free democratic Jewish state in it."

·       Year 1995

-        In its 104th session on 23-10-1995, the U.S. Congress passed legislation, in which it candidly expressed "the desire of the United States to move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem instead of Tel Aviv, and to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the Hebrew state, no later than May 1999" .......The legislation "claims that Israel acted to unify Jerusalem after it had been divided, and also states that international law guarantees each state the right to determine its capital, and in this context Israel declared Jerusalem its eternal capital since 1950..and made it the seat of all its ministerial and administrative institutions including the offices of the President, the Parliament and the Supreme Court.............it is also the center of the Jewish religion. It is considered a holy city for members of other religions..And to ensure implementation of this law Congress imposed sanctions on executive entities in the event they failed to take such decisions within the specified time............This legislation allows the U.S. President to postpone its application every six months" and that is what U.S. presidents did from 1995 until 6-12-2017.....when President Trump implemented the aforementioned law.

-        For the record, the voting results were 93 votes for the legislation...versus 5 votes against...in the Senate.. As for the House of Representatives, the vote was: 374 votes for the legislation versus 37 votes against it
.We may justify and say that there was no consideration for the Arab votes..at that time.1944..and that some of our countries were at that time weak and newly independent, and others were still colonized, and had no experience in conducting the appropriate lobby....!!!!

-        In addition, Arab oil was a new commodity, and there was no effect of any effective Arab pressure...on the American arena..nor even on the British arena..at the time of the Balfour Declaration in 1917..while the strength of the Zionist movement in the United States at those times was rising and complemented by the strength of the Zionist movement in Europe. Yet I wonder, in light of these declassified documents, whether the fate of the cause had been decided since 1944...as a confirmation by the American people through Congress...of their support for establishing a Jewish state...in Palestine...and stranger still..that a decision and legislation were made by the U.S. Congress..that is, by the American people in 1995, about fifty years after the previous decisions, and with these overwhelming votes in favor of recognizing Jerusalem as the eternal capital of the Jewish state...and the opposition to this legislation was small, as appears in the number of votes opposing the decision and the legislation..as if they did not recognize any Arab inhabitants in Palestine..and fifty years was sufficient for diplomatic representatives and Arab communities in the United States to be closer to the American people, and to employ their strengths and demonstrate that their region abounds with American interests.....And oddly, such legislation was also adopted two years after the signing of the Oslo Agreement between the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Israel under American auspices...in 1993...and after rallying the support of some Arab states for the international coalition to destroy Iraq...and in the midst of the need of the United States and the West and their economies for Arab oil....and Arab money.

-        None of that availed. And despite our long-standing calls that 99% of the keys to the solution are in America's hands..... for the Arabs to have standing with the American people....it is clear that our Arab officials in the American arena did not exert sufficient effort to alter the American outlook on the Middle East, so long as policy operates according to vital interests. Thus the legislation concerning Jerusalem...is old. The commotion that has occurred and continues in the Middle East, and the successive expressions of denunciation and condemnation by some Arab states, while others remain silent, show that the priority list of some Arab politicians...has been rearranged...

·       Now we watch with our own eyes...the repercussions of the 'Deal of the Century' in pieces......and there is no official or even popular movement...and the deal does not concern only Palestine..they are drawing a new map of the Middle East...according to the old planning as far as we know from the Western ministries' declassified documents of the last century...

·       By God, the eye sheds tears. From sadness.!! ...even though wailing and beating the chest change nothing, with the entrenchment of facts on the Palestinian land, and the Arab land.......Nevertheless the right of the Arabs..and the Muslims remains eternal...no matter how much this right is erased...from inside and outside.....and let us try to distribute the keys to the solution....perhaps and hopefully!!!
