The elderly and those advanced in it.....They were a sickly class and a cause for delight...And with the passage of time they became a cause for repulsion...(I mean by the state)
But they-- meaning the old people, as they are mistakenly called in custom---.In reality they can..do a great deal.. with determination and will, and change their way of thinking even at an advanced age!
Every child, every adolescent, everyold man, every woman, are deprived in our verbal democracy of basic human rights,,,which are no longer a matter of dispute except in our Arab homeland!
Thinkers have written a great deal about them in their publications, and these are some excerpts...
The old man inour Arab democracy is another citizen in quarantine, the law prevents him from engaging in public work, and custom prevents him from engaging in any personal human activity, except to be a dignified old man awaiting death, he does not have a share of the state budget, and no one represents his interests within the administrative apparatus, which is why our Arab homelandlacks institutions dedicated to the elderly, and is devoid of their clubs, associations and causes..even though verbally- it lowers for him (the wing of humiliation from mercy ......and says to them a pleasing word)....
