Is politics stronger than economics? Or is economics stronger than politics...? Can politics lead a country whose economy is groaning under burdens and problems? Or can a strong economy hijack politics...in its country and strengthen it... How does a political leadership in a country make a statement concerning another country and, with the stroke of a pen, that other country’s currency collapses...and consequently its economy...without firing a single shot in the air...and without sending a single soldier to the battlefield in the targeted country.......Several theories...and several visions..but in the end....the economy remains a decisive factor in the trajectory of states...and politics, even if it tries to domesticate the economy, cannot do without it at any stage... Around five decades ago a conference...economic in nature...has been held at the beginning of every year...similar to the United Nations General Assembly conferences...but it is completely different...it seems to govern the world by a group of transnational companies...in which there are no points registered...for condemnation and warfare...rather, politicians meet at a conference titled the world economy...to record success and cooperation...investment...and the seizing of opportunities for it, and to solve the world’s problems...current and future...according to case diagnoses...by experts representing the stages of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and technology...digitalization and algorithms and artificial intelligence.....The participants discuss...the inclusion of a new team participating with them in the labor of their countries...they are the robots...the automatons...who impose displacement upon natural men...as they share their livelihood with them...without feeling...and without remorse....they compress time...and human imagination becomes mechanistic reality... Politicians meet every year in cabins...where they seclude themselves...away from the eyes of coverage...to agree to agree..!!!. And white smoke always issues from these cabins...at the start of each year...as a signal that an agreement has been reached...and that agreements have been concluded...following the example of the election of the Pope in the Vatican...by the cardinals....But the Davos meeting...is a capitalist gathering in a secular forum...for the high priests of economics...and the grandees of politics...who meet...without separating....but the big ones rule...and the small ones are led along...the great ask the small to prepare their houses suitably...to receive their seniors...who have drunk the elites with them in Davos...Everyone is delighted to various degrees......in a conference of capitalism and global liberalism...in a guise different from what we are used to...to showcase the latest trends in technology...and the state of nature....!! Here in Davos the fate of states is decided...and the world is governed by money and choices of opportunity...under this title.....(World Economic Forum)....
The world of global investment...and in an era of globalization...multinational companies of diverse nationalities roam the countries of the world for investment...under the names of the new liberalism of capitalism...and free trade,
market liberalization...and privatization...The idea of bringing together all businessmen and the world’s major companies in a forum was established...For about fifty years, in 1971...the German-born economist and business scholar Dr. Klaus Schwab founded a forum based in Geneva in Switzerland, where the professor gathered a spectrum of European business leaders to discuss management practices in the world and ways to catch up with American competitors in this field.....Then in a small town called Davos — the highest town in Europe — with an altitude of about 1,560 meters... where the largest brewery in Europe is located...and it is a town full of health resorts and ice hockey and skiing....It is located in the Swiss Alps, on the Landwasser River in the Prättigau district...in the canton of Graubünden...in Switzerland...92 miles from Zurich....The Davos conference convened there in 1971...and was initially dedicated to Europe...to discuss management in American projects and the transfer of successful ones to Europe...whatever their administrative character...then it shifted to an economic character in 1974....Political leaders were also involved in the same year for the first time...as it was no longer exclusive to representatives of large companies...Then the name was changed to the World Economic Forum in 1987....This gathering was announced as a non-profit, non-governmental organization...where it intended...to bring together elites from more than a thousand giant companies...multinationals such as Nestlé and Microsoft...and Bechtel...and others whose annual income does not fall below a billion dollars... This forum convenes in the city of Davos which was dubbed “the capital of Microsoft”
- Every year official topics are renewed after consultations between the Forum and its members...and discussions with economists...academics and journalists...In addition to this large economic cartel, political leaders...decision-makers in their countries also meet with the aim of discussing the economic and political problems facing the world...and how to solve them....Drafts are prepared...for joint economic plans and projects...The attendees, in addition to what has been mentioned, translate the modern liberal policies of the World Bank and the World Trade Organization...which primarily target the privatization of basic services...market liberalization...and creating an environment that allows investment...which in turn requires political reforms.....in practice..
-
Political participants usually arrive in Davos by private helicopters...while others of lower rank...arrive by buses from Zurich Airport...or via three different trains...to enjoy the scenic views...before reaching the summit... The Davos meeting is more than a conference...it includes panel sessions...speeches...and live interviews...but there are also behind-the-scenes meetings....where conferences are held between world leaders...company presidents and a group of senior bankers to discuss the latest crises and to conduct conversations of every sort, many of which are not broadcast...nor listed on the conference’s official program...Banquets and dinners are held away from the spotlight in mountain cabins...remote...which also do not appear on the official program of the conference...and there are banquets where celebrities from the arts and actors deliver speeches and cocktail parties that continue until late hours of the night...
The Forum is funded by the perpetual annual membership fees of the multinational companies in the conference according to their membership level...and usually an individual member’s attendance costs more than 40,000 euros for each annual presence...in addition to contributions paid by the companies, not to mention that the Forum receives donations...from the forum’s sponsors.....
-
The Forum’s estimated budget is about 200 million Swiss francs annually...half of which is allocated to spending on the meetings it organizes, while the other half is for payroll expenses..
The participation process is organized...in a tight manner...on the basis of a badge system...and the delegates’ badge color is white...and there are badges of multiple colors...such as orange...for journalists...while green is for delegates’ companions...
- The Forum consists of a Board of Trustees and an Executive Committee...The Board of Trustees includes a group of leading figures in the fields of business, politics, civil society and academia whose mission is to guard the Forum’s values and implement its mission...while the Executive Committee works to manage the Forum’s various activities under the supervision of the Chief Executive and includes dozens of staff members of different nationalities..
- The Forum encompasses four main annual meetings The Forum’s annual meeting in the Swiss city of Davos brings together an elite of businessmen...political leaders...and academics in January of each year...and the Annual Meeting of the New Champions, which is an annual forum held in China to discuss issues of innovation, science and technology...and the Global Agenda Summit...a meeting among leading global knowledge groups to exchange ideas about the major challenges facing the world...and it is held in the United Arab Emirates...and finally the Industrial Strategy Meeting...which brings together parties concerned with developing industrial strategies to formulate the industrial agenda in the world...
- A number of other forums are also organized such as the Global Future Councils network presented as “vision networks” designed to generate a deep understanding of major issues...and how these issues affect global, regional or industry-specific challenges..
- The political attendance in Davos consists of kings and presidents, prime ministers and ministers...and some selected civil society organizations...alongside some journalists...lawyers and academics...who are also carefully selected...Regional affiliated conferences are also held throughout the year in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East to accelerate the process of “opening up and economic integration”..Jordan had the share of hosting three consecutive meetings at the Dead Sea between 2002 -2005...which primarily aimed to integrate the region into the global economy...and to discuss the future of the Greater Middle East...politically and economically...and what that requires...in terms of stability to activate and attract investments...and to work out agreements to liberalize trade...open markets...and to discuss rising oil prices...the causes of terrorism...and the future of some unstable countries, for example Iraq..
It was said by one of the female participants in the conference... and she is the Minister of Economy in her country... that "there must be painful changes" in order for the economic development of a certain country... What are these painful changes...? They are the cries and wails of the peoples... resulting from the reforms carried out by the governments of these peoples... to appease the investor coming from Davos... prices rise... unemployment sets in and taxes increase... social welfare programs are removed... subsidies for basic goods are lifted... and the currency loses its customary purchasing power... in addition to losing its national dignity....!!! As someone said, and in order for this development to occur it must "be done from above" through a wise, persevering and patient leadership... And, for example, it took place in the Dead Sea meetings at the Davos economic conference... and it is clear to us... that Israel is a key player in these conferences on the basis that it is one of the countries of the Greater Middle East..
The theme of the forum for 2018 was "Building a Shared Future in a Fractured World"... and attendance included more than 70 heads of state or government... and more than thirty-eight heads of major international organizations... and many female leaders..
The United States attended Davos for the first time at the World Economic Forum in 2018, which was held in the last week of January of the current year..... President Trump attended... who was in a position of defending a principle he had previously announced at home via his presidential tweets... "America First" and economic protectionism for the American economy... where he promised to cut taxes in his country and raise customs duties on imports to the United States... by 50%... Nonetheless, he said that America is ready for trade... and said, "When America grows, the world grows with it"... He entered into dialogues with more than five hundred chief executive officers of major companies... and concluded with some of them anfaqiyat... and as if he had returned to his original nature as a businessman... where he told them that he is the only president in America who came from the world of finance and business... and not from the world of politics...!!!
Among the important topics discussed at the Davos conference are financial technology and artificial intelligence and their impact on the international economy... and the exploration of the frontiers of knowledge... and the latest scientific and technological developments... The Davos economic conference, in addition to its concern with economics and politics, also focuses on technology... It introduced technological partners in 2007 who represent companies specialized in technology that present inventions that can ease living and working conditions for humanity in the present and future.
Several important papers, studies and reports were presented at the conference... A report on the future of jobs in 2018 stopped me a lot; it is an extremely important report... as it reviews the entry of machines and robots into the world of work... and their acquisition of a share of jobs... and the two shares may reach 50% in 2025... Also, the nature of work has changed in the world of mobile internet... where the employee can perform his work from his home... Working at Home.. The report shows how the Fourth Industrial Revolution interacts with other social, economic and demographic factors to create a full storm of change in the work model across all industries, leading to major disruptions in the labor market... New categories of jobs will appear... leading to the partial or total displacement of others... and the set of skills required in both old and new professions in most industries will change..
It is expected that by 2022, newly emerging occupations will grow from 16% to 27% of the employee base in major companies worldwide... while job roles currently affected by technological obsolescence are expected to decline from 31% to 21% in terms of quantity... 75 million jobs may be displaced through the shift in the division of labor between humans and machines... and algorithms... while 133 million jobs may appear... The increasing jobs include roles and required positions such as: data analysts and software and application developers and e-commerce specialists... and social media... These are jobs that depend heavily on the use of technology. Nevertheless, it is also expected that job roles will grow based on distinctive "human traits" such as customer service workers and sales, marketing, training and development professionals... An artificial intelligence index was shown... and how it shakes the concepts of the nature of jobs in the market.
There are lingering doubts about the types of jobs that will be created... and their availability... and the kind of training they may require.... The workforce must be prepared for these changes on a data-driven approach to understand the trends shaping the future of the labor market... and a commitment to investing in lifelong learning opportunities that can help workers adapt to rapid economic changes...
As the world continues to invest in artificial intelligence technologies... we will continue to assess the external factors and the impact on the workforce, especially with regard to the opportunities available for reskilling and retraining initiatives... With the emergence of new skills, governments, educational institutions and employers should consider how to develop learning programs more effectively to equip people with the skills they need... to keep pace with the modern economy....
I was stopped while trying to subscribe to a professional conference via the internet... a new clause where each individual communicating via the internet is asked to enter an annual subscription or to submit an application via the internet.... or something similar... to identify himself and confirm... is he... a human?.. or a robot?.
"am not a robot..I am a human".... It is a new companion... of our own making... but it is not a human like us!.... May God help us
