-        In his regular column in The Washington Post dated 20-11-2019, Ishaan Tharoor wrote about the U.S. administration’s announcement that the construction of Israeli settlements in the West Bank does not violate international law, under the headline "Trump’s real plan in the Middle East," saying that there are many reasons why we should not be surprised by the Trump administration’s insistence that Israeli settlements in the West Bank do not violate international law. The decision announced on Monday by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is "another unilateral action" welcomed by the right-wing Israeli government, which has already seen President Trump grant recognition of Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem and the Golan Heights. It fits the pattern of policies followed by David Friedman, Trump’s ambassador to Israel and a strong supporter of the settlements in the West Bank. This announcement by the U.S. administration leads to the erosion of the distant prospects for establishing an independent Palestinian state. The announcement plays on the local evangelical support for Trump among American Christian voters who see "the necessity of Israel’s predominance and the establishment of its state on the holy lands." It is another repudiation of former President Barack Obama, who chose in his last month in office to abstain from voting on a United Nations Security Council resolution, instead of vetoing it, which described the settlements as a "blatant violation under international law"....

-        And like the other maneuvers that Trump has taken in Israel, this may greatly bolster the political fortunes of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a friend and ally who could be charged with fraud, bribery and breach of trust as early as next week.

-        And as the article’s author described the U.S. administration’s announcement as "unilateral," the writer made clear the opposition of most countries of the international community to this announcement, including most Western countries...

-        The writer quoted the comment of Mr. Mike Evans, a member of Trump’s informal group of advisors from the evangelical Christians, to the magazine "World View": "Donald Trump has helped Israel more than any president in American history."

-        He added, explaining that the "essence of the problem" between Israelis and Palestinians is not "land," but the alleged racism of the Arabs and the corruption of their leaders!!

-        Evans said he had a private phone call with the United States Secretary of State on Monday afternoon. Commenting on the U.S. administration’s announcement that Israeli settlements in the West Bank do not violate the rules of international law, he said: "This was their land for thousands of years," referring to the Jewish history in the West Bank. "It’s Bible land." (according to Mike Evans)!!
However, the article’s author showed the opinion of other religious figures who were less enthusiastic than Evans, saying that "Avi Dabush," head of the Rabbis for Human Rights Association, a advocacy group operating in the West Bank, told The Washington Post: "We must remember now the Book of Genesis." Abraham was a father to both peoples, Jews and Muslims. In the end, we all have to live here, not die on a rigid conviction that everything belongs only to us!

·       In my opinion, the U.S. administration’s announcements regarding the liquidation of the Palestinian cause, and the sabotage of the Arab and Islamic societies and states that support and advocate for the Palestinians, will continue until the end, if the American president remains in office!!... and if the harsh Arab and Muslim rulers ... continue not to give importance ... and to respond in a manner worthy of Arab and Islamic history ... despite their possessing the elements to stand, even faintly, against American and therefore Israeli arrogance...!! The belief of Arab and Islamic peoples in the Palestinian cause, and its Islamic and Christian holy sites, is engraved in the minds, hearts and consciences of our young and old ... and it will not be erased by the reckless act of an individual ... which does not essentially align even with the principles of freedom and justice in his country’s constitution!!.. And this position is classified by all of us as a "temporary position" and one that will pass, and is considered a reality that responds to the elites as a cup of elections for Trump and for Israel, and to cover up noisy internal crises they have!!

·       International law... and most countries of the world, including a significant part of the American people—among them Democrats, Republicans and Jews—believe in the necessity of ending the Israeli occupation of the territories occupied in 1967 from Palestine. One example, at least, was a week ago at Harvard Law School where the Israeli consul in New York, Dany Dayan, was invited to give a lecture on the legality of Israeli settlements on Palestinian lands seized in 1967. When he took the floor to begin his lecture the reaction of most students was to interrupt him and leave the hall, and banners in support of the Palestinians’ right to establish their state were raised and the hall became empty of students of all nationalities!!!... The U.S. administration’s announcements are mere "pipe dreams" even if some of our own quietly applaud them..!!
