Business is Business
orIt’s none of your business

Short words repeated by most people, a talisman for making private business succeed..and even public [business], but they have a meaning that enters into the features of the "market economy" which has its rules for daily commodity and service transactions..not only in the markets of advanced countries, but in most of the world’s markets.....!! In these common sayings..which initially mark the limits of individual intervention in private business, or even public business!!..yet they move in a deeper direction to include the entire private sector....for there are modern theories built on older ones that call for allowing this market to operate and run freely...!! because its rules achieve at the end the balance...in favor of society and its means of production according to these theories!! ...Most economic theorists, especially advocates of modern economic liberalism and globalization...led by Friedman..lean toward, indeed call for, applying the rule that there is no rescuer of the national economy..except the private sector acting alone....and without intervention..!! And aren’t notions such as "الشغل شغل."...or "this is none of your business" but rather my business as the employer...part of the literature of the free market economy!! Those who adhere to this doctrine call for nonintervention by the government – the public sector – in the affairs of the private sector (market economy)..by refraining from intervening in price controls and profit margins..interest rates...and imposing higher taxes on high-income earners...which the public sector sees as a means to redistribute wealth among individuals fairly...Supporters of government intervention in the affairs of the private sector argue that nonintervention by it as a public sector, in its capacity as responsible for society by virtue of history and custom...will keep the poor becoming poorer..and the rich becoming richer....!!..Meanwhile their opponents, globalization theorists who believe in the insignificance of geographical borders and care about freedom of movement for individuals and freedom of movement for capital, hold that the market economy from the perspective of the new liberals, with its rules, is more effective at looking after society than public sector intervention....!! Supporters of the public sector give the example that the principle "الشغل شغل" leads to a weakening of the private sector’s loyalty to its homeland...for what concerns the private sector are its assets, capital, profit size, and avoidance of risks that reduce the growth of its profitability!!..Thus we see it move according to its interests..so if it is threatened by war or a crisis in its national society, it hastens to move its capital across borders to an environment with higher returns, lower risk..and greater safety...!!
As for globalization advocates who also believe in conducting private business at a distance from emotions and family and personal loyalty...because an employer’s compliance with family and tribal calls...will have negative results on actual business outcomes!!....as in family-run businesses when hiring is done according to family ties or friendship..not according to performance criteria.....!!..Globalization advocates add to their arguments that the means of production do not know so-and-so son of so-and-so, or a relative of so-and-so!!....they deal with the worker’s skill regardless of his family name..in order to produce to global specifications and high quality...!! Not to mention the growing feeling of lack of loyalty at work and indifference among other employees..so long as they see that the worker related to the employer receives salaries and privileges that are not worse than what they receive, and perhaps better, they will not be less [favored]. But the opponents of the "الشغل شغل" theory..claim that it is devoid of human feelings..and shows the selfishness of business owners..rooted in their practical reality, so the employer’s hiring rules will compel him not to add any new worker to his production circles except after he knows the added value..that this newcomer will bring only....!! Those who defend government intervention in the private sector add that government intervention is necessary..to protect the middle and poor classes in societies from exploitation by the domineering wealthy class that gives no care, compassion..or even mercy to other classes...and they say that the market economy is greedy in its prices and high profit margins, accusing the private sector of delaying and not disclosing the truthfulness of their real income figures...and of manipulating the pricing of goods lists and their values before customs...and also the private sector - as its opponents claim - tries to evade paying taxes. They accuse it of being a primary source of bribery and corruption..and of marginalizing the public sector from achieving justice in society, attempting to steer the course of government..according to what its interests require..!!. That is, it bribes some in the government sector, to harness them to enact laws and legislation in its favor whether in terms of imports or tax rates, or canceling protective policies that the public sector pursues to protect domestic production..because in the presence of such policies, imports are more costly!!! ...etc. Therefore the private sector stands as an obstacle with its influence through bribes – as some claim – in various forms in the pockets of decision-makers, to the application of protection rules in the market by the public sector.....!!
Opponents of freedom of private sector activity add that the private sector is not honest in disclosure and some accuse it of fraud for profit..and manipulating marketing to sell, lying in its advertising to persuade consumers of its goods in the market!! Passing off goods unfit for human use and serving spoiled meals in restaurants, offering discount rates on sales up to 80%, only to find that the discount rate does not exceed 10% in reality..All of these are merely nonexhaustive examples of the corruption attributed to the private sector, according to their claim – !!

Is this our private sector here in the East...? Is this the private sector to which they will entrust the task of uplifting society and developing local income, and of staying completely away from intervention...even allowing it...to seize most of the functions and assets of the public sector...for its own benefit..despite the negative traits I noted above which the private sector allegedly carries, according to opposers of freedom for the private sector...
My view is that generalizing negative traits of some individuals of the private sector as if they represent the entire private sector is far from logic and reality, and I support maintaining government intervention in the private sector in some pathways and practices of the private sector; the government must intervene in these pathways when it becomes clear that there is a danger affecting the shared interests of society, its economic security and social justice among its members...but on condition of upholding the sanctity of private property rights..and freedom of movement and activity in market economies...and not tampering with its rules in production and innovation...unless some parties to that market touch the foundations supporting the national economy's security...And such government intervention will not be fair or useful unless it is under the umbrella of parliamentary or legislative councils..that represent the public so that justice will be closer and injustice farther from reach...!! I am for the.... Business is Business...to remove laxity in work and innovation...and to catch up with the modernity of the economy...and to get rid of tribalism in the labor market....provided that packages of legislation regulating market economies are enacted..and the social responsibility that the private sector must reach is defined...!!
