Tony Blair the Weasel: Ambassador of Bad Intentions

This weasel.....deceived the international community...and betrayed the international responsibility.!

- The Quartet's envoy...Tony Blair since 2007, and after his resignation as Prime Minister of Britain, continued as a special envoy of the Quartet for 8 years, until his resignation in 2015.., .This Quartet, composed of the United Nations, Russia, the United States and the European Union, which had been established in 2002 in Madrid on the recommendation of the Spanish Prime Minister at that time, Tony Blair revealed his role in the normalization agreement between Israel and the UAE, in an interview conducted by the newspaper Israel Hayom with Blair, and its details were published on Thursday 10-9-2020; two days earlier, Blair revealed that he "was a mediator between Israel and the UAE, traveling between London, Abu Dhabi, and Nicosia, to hold a series of secret meetings with the lawyer Yitzhak Molcho, Netanyahu’s former special envoy, and a minister in the Emirati government". He confirmed to the newspaper that "the secret meetings that began via a secret channel on his initiative in 2015, and continued over the years, laid the foundation for the alliance between Israel and the UAE and the normalization of relations between the two countries".

- Blair revealed that "during his mission, Molcho conveyed messages from Netanyahu to the Emirates, and later the consolidation of relations led to telephone conversations between Netanyahu and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and also two meetings were held in 2018 between Netanyahu and bin Zayed"..

- And in an internet press interview from London, with the Israeli newspaper "Israel Weekly", Blair said in his interview "I thought, how many years do we need to change the prevailing approach".. and he added.. "Instead of seeing peace between Israel and the Palestinians as a means that would lead to a breakthrough with the Arab states, the concept must be turned upside down: without agreements with the Arab states, the settlement with the Palestinians will not come".. exactly as Netanyahu announced in 2015 when he said "that the Arab states will bring the Palestinians and not the other way around"!!

- And in this regard, and fundamentally, how United Nations committees, such as: the Quartet and nuclear inspection teams and others, are used in some cases for purposes other than those assigned to them by the United Nations. For example, the French diplomat "Anis Nakhrawi" who was an adviser to the International Quartet and to Mr. Tony Blair, said in an interview with Channel Four in early 2014, "the Quartet was formed as a smokescreen for the occupying entity and the United States," and he said "(that its real function was to buy time to allow the Israeli government to do whatever it wanted")!!

- Tony Blair...and while he was serving as the representative of the International Quartet, his private consultancy offices in London were working with the United Arab Emirates, and receiving funds and donations. The press indicated this in 2015,... causing an uproar at the time that Tony Blair was not neutral..and that he had enriched himself..using his position as the representative of the International Quartet in the Middle East... It appears that his eight-year tenure as special envoy of the Quartet for the peace process in the Middle East was used by him to multiply his wealth dozens of times thanks to strengthening his ties with some Gulf Arab countries, under the pretext of "working for peace", which led to him being "criticized for the conflict between his work as a businessman and his duties in his diplomatic post", this was reported by The Daily Telegraph on 28-5-2015 at the time Blair submitted his resignation from his mission as a peace envoy..,

- In this regard, and only five days after the announcement of the normalization agreement between the Emirates and Israel, the "Tony Blair Institute for Global Change" issued a lengthy and detailed study dated 18-8-2020, titled: "Trends in media opinion about Israel in the Saudi and Gulf media", based on a qualitative reading of opinion pieces in newspapers published in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and the rest of the Gulf countries. The thesis of the study argued that after the Arab Spring revolutions there occurred something like a shift in the political narratives "nationalist and traditional" that had governed Arab public opinion for decades, including the way the street began to view political Islam, jihadist movements, the Sunni-Shia split and the Iranian threat, and especially the decline of the Palestinian issue as the foremost Arab cause, and consequently the change in the image by which Israel came to be seen, according to the study...(according to RT Arabic)..

- It is worth noting that Blair was the Quartet's choice, and he was chosen by President George Bush after his resignation from the premiership in Britain, and it is known that Tony Blair was George Bush’s partner in the war on Iraq and its invasion, who at that time repeated false information regarding Iraq’s possession of weapons of mass destruction to justify the blatant American-British invasion... through a report of the British intelligence service, which asserted the involvement of agents of President Saddam at that time and their being seen in the markets of an African country – Niger – buying 500 tons of uranium, to create a pretext for the United States in the face of the opposition of most of the world’s countries to the invasion and destruction of Iraq.... The United Nations proved the falsity of these fabricated reports in a report of its own, just as the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency classified the aforementioned British intelligence report as dubious, as stated in the book of the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, George Tenet, published in 2007, and Blair himself admitted to arranging justifications and cover for the American occupation of Iraq...!!

- Tony Blair had succeeded the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Representative for the peace process in the Middle East, Mr. Alvaro de Soto, the Peruvian, who was appointed in 2005 as Special Coordinator for the Middle East peace process, and who resigned from his post; in his resignation letter in 2007 he said "that Israel’s position is based essentially on rejection towards the Palestinians, and that the Quartet had confined itself to watching what was happening..."!!. He added in a secret report presented by Mr. de Soto to the UN Secretary-General and the Quartet, and leaked by The Guardian on 13-6-2015, "that the boycott imposed by the international community on the Palestinians, after Hamas’s victory in the legislative elections, lacked foresight at best, and had dire consequences for the Palestinian people"!

- It is worth noting that one of the outcomes of the Quartet's work was the "Roadmap" that was prepared in 2003, encouraged by President Bush, which had been accepted by the Palestinians, while the Israelis submitted 14 amendments to it, and in the end neglected it and continued settlement construction, knowing that one of its declared aims was the establishment of a Palestinian state in 2005, after establishing provisional borders for that state... and freezing settlements..!

- In this regard, Netanyahu praised Blair after his resignation in 2015, "that he had made great efforts to achieve stability and peace in the region... and that Israel appreciates and values his work, his determination, and hopes that he will continue in the future to put his expertise at the service of regional peace and stability.."!...

- While Dr. Nabil Shaath said in a statement after Blair’s resignation from his mission in 2015, "I feel happy about Blair’s departure, for this man did not contribute anything to the Palestinian cause over eight years".!!

- We must not keep our necks in the hands of committees, even if they are international....because some of them deceive us...and they buy time..to impose facts on the ground...and because some of them work to implement goals other than those declared internationally. And we blame ourselves because we did not scrutinize matters, and we did not give certain lines of the signals issued any importance..!! Are we so naive as to be duped by the activity of such committees and officials for decades..without distinguishing the white thread from the black thread.!!. There is an obvious shortcoming that must be reviewed in our references..!. And we must assess matters and extract the motives of policy, instead of burying our heads in the sand, and saying ..we have no knowledge..! This is despair in politics...!

- We are strong and rightful owners of a land whose story we preserve and tell..and they will not erase the features of our story.....A point here or a point there recorded in favor of the Israeli occupation will not deter us...this will not benefit them!..and will not carry them high!...It wounds feelings, yes.., but it will not kill us, nor take away our faith, nor force us to throw away the keys to our homes..there in Palestine....and there are still many points in our store....The Palestinian cause is inherited not only by Palestinian generations but by the Arab and Islamic ones, and by the many free people in this world... It will not harm us..much of what has happened..but its occurrence pains us.. We must change the pattern of our thinking and the essence of our actions..and open our eyes..and continue in our faith in just peace.!

In the very least, a letter should be written to the Secretary-General outlining what Blair said and protesting it, because it undermines confidence in the international system as a whole and weakens its credibility... given that this international envoy previously departed from the goals of his mission to secure peace in the Middle East, thereby harming the general Palestinian people, who do not forget that Great Britain – the state of the international envoy – is the one that created this entire conflict and its consequences..., which emptied his mission of its fundamental objectives.. and instead he worked to implement the agenda of the Israeli occupation, and this is clear from Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s phone call to him after the announcement of the normalization agreement with the United Arab Emirates, saying to him "شكرا توني" ...where it is clear that he was a principal player in mediating the normalization... between the two states: the Emirates and Israel... Blair’s vision from the beginning in his mission as Middle East envoy mirrored Netanyahu’s vision..!

We must undertake a diplomatic and wise course with the United Nations, because what was announced in the press interview two days ago with Tony Blair shook confidence in the UN envoy and gave us the excuse and obstinacy to think carefully before accepting any mediation, even international, or any international conference..!, unless there is a consensus on good intentions and documented guarantees....!. and we interpret it according to what was done.. wasting time.... and we should search for another vision of peace.. so that we do not fall into mistakes like those we made with Tony Blair... who in reality was duplicitous, and whose hands are stained with Iraqi blood and Palestinian blood...!

The Palestinians are fully aware of their cause and do not need years to prove their fitness for peace; rather they need United Nations efforts in which the Palestinians have complete trust... otherwise our right remains reserved however long the time..!!
