What did the texts of Chapter—Section—Nineteen, concerning Arab-Israeli relations and regional economic partnerships, in Trump’s vision (Deal of the Century) 2020 recount?
Here are those texts, which speak for themselves about the facts of this vision and its objectives.
-
The decisions of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to sign peace treaties with the State of Israel were major historical breakthroughs. However, significant and broader cooperation must be developed among these countries for the benefit of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the State of Israel.
The participation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Arab Peace Initiative increased the number of potential peace partners and introduced important concepts into the peace process. We express our great appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its role in creating the Arab Peace Initiative, which inspired some of the ideas that inform this vision.!!
- The goal of this vision is for the Arab states to cooperate fully with the State of Israel for the benefit of all countries in the region. For example, there should be flights between the Arab states and Israel to promote transit tourism, and to better enable Arabs to visit the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Israel.
- The United States will strongly encourage the Arab states to begin normalizing relations with the State of Israel and to negotiate permanent peace agreements.
- Economic relations between the State of Israel and its neighbors should be expanded in ways that serve the interests of all parties, particularly given the interests of the Arab states in moving away from fuel-based economies toward economies based on infrastructure and new technologies. By integrating their transport infrastructure, the countries of the region can become a global hub for moving goods and services from Asia to Africa and Europe. This integration between Israel, the State of Palestine, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan will allow the three countries to work together to help transfer goods from Europe to the Persian Gulf and vice versa.
- The State of Israel and the Arab states, including the State of Palestine, should establish strong economic partnerships and trade agreements. There should be a particular focus on significantly improving the economic and tourism sectors of the State of Palestine, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
- The emergence of this new reality of regional integration will require a fundamental change in international policy. In the diplomatic arena in particular, Arab states, alongside the State of Palestine, should stop supporting initiatives hostile to Israel at the United Nations and other multilateral bodies. In particular, they should not lend their support to any efforts that aim to delegitimize the State of Israel!.
- These countries are expected to end any boycott of the State of Israel and oppose the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement (commonly referred to as (BDS)) and any other attempt to boycott the State of Israel. The United States views the boycott movement as destructive to peace, and will oppose any activity that advances boycotts or other restrictive trade practices targeting Israel.
- Initiatives that seek to cast doubt on the authentic roots of the Jewish people in the State of Israel must cease.!! These initiatives not only overshadow the Jewish and Christian historical record, but also the Islamic historical record!!. One of the important aims of this vision is for the State of Israel to be treated by all as a legitimate part of the international community...!
· New opportunities for security initiatives in the region
- In the face of shared threats and in the pursuit of common interests, opportunities and alliances previously unimaginable emerge.
- The State of Israel, the State of Palestine, and the Arab states will work together to confront Hezbollah, ISIS, and Hamas (if Hamas does not reorient according to Gaza standards) and all other terrorist groups and organizations, as well as other extremist groups.
- The threats posed by the radical Iranian regime have produced a new reality in which the State of Israel and its Arab neighbors increasingly share similar perceptions of the threats to their security. Moreover, Israel and its Arab neighbors increasingly share a vision of stability and economic prosperity in the region. Enhanced strategic cooperation among the countries of the region would pave the way for diplomatic breakthroughs and a broader regional security architecture in the future.
- The State of Israel is not a threat to the region at all!!. However, economic conditions and Iran’s malign activities pose an existential threat to many countries in the region. Integrating Israel into the region would help with a wide range of economic challenges as well as confronting the threats from Iran. The Iranian attack on Aramco facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2019, for example, shocked the global economy and illustrates the necessity for the countries of the region to work together on security.
- Israel and the Arab states have already discovered their shared interests in combating terrorist groups and organizations, and the common danger posed by expansionist Iran. These countries also face similar security challenges in the Mediterranean and the Red Sea. They should work with the United States to protect freedom of navigation through international straits that are increasingly threatened by Iran, its proxy forces, and terrorist groups.
- This shared interest in the region should be expressed by formalizing relations between the State of Israel and the Gulf Cooperation Council. Moreover, the State of Palestine, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the State of Israel (and such additional countries in the region that wish to join) should form an Organization for Security and Cooperation in the Middle East ("OSCME"), modeled on the framework used by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. The OSCME’s mandate should include, among other things, issues such as early warning of conflicts, conflict prevention, and crisis management.
